Gudjohnsen is still going strong at the age of 37

Similar to Carvalho at 37 and an ex-Chelsea star, Eidur Gudjohnsen is a top player, but no spring chicken. He was a delight to watch alongside the likes of Thierry Henry, Deco and Ronaldinho at Barcelona but that was back in 2007/8, and after watching him several times during his English swansong at Bolton last year, it’s clear to see he’s lost a little bit of his magical touch. Gudjohnsen initially announced his retirement from the international game back in 2013 but made a goalscoring return 18 months later in a 3-0 win over Kazakhstan. He played three times during qualification, scoring once and you have to feel that Iceland’s all-time leading scorer is owed one major championship by his country.
