With the continent’s top talent being displayed at next year’s European Championship, we take a look at some of the players you might not have expected to appear at the finals in France.

10. Andreas Isaksson (Sweden)

Isaksson struggled at Man City

Rated as highly as Petr Cech as a youngster, Andreas Isaksson has had a mixed career. His move to Manchester City in 2006 was greeted by the fans but injury trouble and a lack of form dented his hopes of making it in the Premier League. A successful spell followed at PSV Eindhoven, before he made a surprising move to Turkish side Kasımpaşa, where he still plays today. Despite a mixed bag at club level, the now 34-year-old has been a stalwart for Sweden and has played over 125 times for his country. He is the undisputed number 1 and is expected to be between the sticks in France next summer.
