With the continent’s top talent being displayed at next year’s European Championship, we take a look at some of the players you might not have expected to appear at the finals in France.
10. Andreas Isaksson (Sweden)
Rated as highly as Petr Cech as a youngster, Andreas Isaksson has had a mixed career. His move to Manchester City in 2006 was greeted by the fans but injury trouble and a lack of form dented his hopes of making it in the Premier League. A successful spell followed at PSV Eindhoven, before he made a surprising move to Turkish side Kasımpaşa, where he still plays today. Despite a mixed bag at club level, the now 34-year-old has been a stalwart for Sweden and has played over 125 times for his country. He is the undisputed number 1 and is expected to be between the sticks in France next summer.
