4. Liverpool 2-2 Northampton (Northampton win on pens) – 3rd Round, 2010

Yet another game that was decided by penalties and ultimately ended badly for the Premier League side, as League Two outfit Northampton grabbed their ticket to the next round after Abdul Osman coolly slotted the decisive penalty past goalkeeper Brad Jones. Northampton took the game to extra-time after an intense 90 minutes with McKay getting the equaliser and they then took the lead through a Jacobs goal. Ngog managed to take the game to penalties but it was ultimately the lower league side that would go through to the next round.
