As the season draws ever closer, fans from all different walks of life are getting into the spirit as many teams travel the world in preparation for the next 10 months.

Pre-season consists of several different aspects for all professional squads; bleep tests, cooper runs, sprints and gym sessions all take place, however some prefer to stick to home turf and the familiar environment, while others venture further afield in order to play against different opposition and gel as a squad.

It is generally the top clubs, those that have a large fan base ranging across all corners of the globe, who tend to travel to the most exotic locations, often in a bid to engage with the supporters who don’t get the chance to watch their team live every Saturday. Although it would appear, judging by the Facebook updates, tweets and Instagram posts coming from some of these tours, it isn’t just football that goes on when these squads travel overseas.
