The January transfer window always produces an exciting mid-season month where rumours constantly fly around and, whether they are reliable or not, entertain football fans across the country.

With over £150 million already spent by English clubs this time around, that total is expected to rise by the end of the window. The transfer market thus far may not have been as active as most people expected, but there’s always time for a shock move.

Ajax forward Luis Suarez joined Kenny Dalglish’s side in 2011, and never looked back. The Uruguayan came to the Premier League with huge pressure on him, because of his high price tag, and doubts began to arise after he scored just four times in his opening 13 appearances for the club.

However, under new manager Brendan Rodgers, Suarez began to show his true talent and managed 17 goals the following season. But nobody expected what was to come next.

The controversial striker began a run of impetuous goalscoring form and netted at least 30 goals in two successive seasons, almost helping the Reds to their first Premier League title in 24 years.

That summer, Suarez made a £75m pound move to Barcelona and been an integral part of their attacking trio ever since.
