The loss of main striker Callum Wilson, who will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, is a bitter blow for Eddie Howe’s side.

With players such as Josh King and Yann Kermogant lacking top-level experience and struggling to find the net, it has since become obvious that a prolific striker is needed this January to help fire them to safety.

Adebayor has been a free agent since leaving Tottenham

A free agent after having his contract terminated by Tottenham, Adebayor is on the lookout for a new club. His experience and record in the top flight mean that he would be a great asset to any team, especially Bournemouth. Still only 31, the Togo international has a lot to offer, and there will be a lot of interest in his signature. The target mans wages may be the stumbling block for the newly promoted side, but he could well be worth taking a gamble on.
