With 2016 just beginning, and the Championship its halfway point, it’s time to take a look at the five outstanding performers in the league so far in 2015/16.

The January transfer window offers the opportunity for teams to strengthen mid-season, but with the money available to bigger teams in the Premier League, it may be a priority for some to keep hold of their star performers – such as this quintet – as the top flight come knocking in the New Year…

5. Tom Ince (Derby)

Tom Ince has continued to impress at Derby

Following a successful loan period at Derby last season, Ince made the move permanent in the summer, despite having been linked with clubs such as Inter Milan in the past. With eight goals already this season, including his first hat-trick against Bristol City in December, the former England U-21 international will look to carry his form from the back end of 2015 into the New Year, and help continue the Rams’ promotion push.
