Top 5: England’s most talented teens

2. Tom Davies (Aged 18)

Ronald Koeman has a number of young talent at his disposal; having called upon the likes of Mason Holegate, Matthew Pennington, Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin last season. But the best of the lot is Tom Davies.

The 18-year-old has had a dream first season at Everton. Blessed with tenacity, technical ability and a good work rate; Davies has made his mark this season in several Premier League games.

Since making his first top-flight start in a 3-0 victory over Southampton in January, Davies has been an ever-present for the Merseyside club. In total, he has featured 23 times this season, netting two goals – including a superb solo effort against Manchester City. He has also racked up three assists.

The Evertonian is yet to make appear for England beyond the Under-19 age group, but if he carries on his form, then it seems only a matter of time before Gareth Southgate selects him for his squad.
