2. Fenerbahçe

One of two Turkish interests in this year’s competition, with Besiktas also in the group stages, Fenerbahçe may represent their best hopes of bringing the trophy back to that country. There were some high profile additions for them over the summer, most notably Robin van Persie and Nani, both acquired from Manchester United. In addition to that, they added Danish centre back Simon Kjaer as well as Lazar Markovic on loan from Liverpool. With these signings they could prove to be a big threat in a tough group containing Ajax, Celtic and Molde.
