Oxford United pulled off the shock result of the FA Cup third round as the League Two side defeated Premier League Swansea City 3-2 at the Kassam Stadium.

Elsewhere, there were draws for Exeter City, Bristol City, and Wycombe Wanderers against Premier League opposition in Liverpool, West Brom and Aston Villa respectively, while National League side Eastleigh drew 1-1 with Bolton Wanderers of the Championship.

But in a weekend where 22 22 confirmed their progress, who were the top performers?

Here’s our Top 5 FA Cup third round players…..

5. Ben Chilwell (Leicester City)

Chilwell performed excellently in just his second Leicester appearance

Having just returned from a loan spell at Huddersfield Town, 19-year-old Chilwell performed admirably against Spurs’ attacking four of Nacer Chadli, Heung-min Son, Josh Onomah and Christian Eriksen in what was just his second game for the Foxes.

With a slight media hype surrounding him, the England Under-20 international fully justified it with a faultless defensive performance, including a fantastic late tackle on Kieran Trippier inside the area in the closing stages.

Linking up with new signing Demarai Gray, he showed a mature understanding of when to push forward and support and when not to.

His defensive performance didn’t however receive the reward it deserved as Spurs got an 89th minute penalty, which was dubiously awarded, before Harry Kane dispatched it to level the score at 2-2.
