Flick through SHOOT‘s Top 5 Fantasy Premier League picks for the 2018-19 season and start climbing that league table for ultimate bragging rights over all of your friends and family…

Marcos Alonso (Chelsea – £6.7m)

Named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year last season, Chelsea full-back Alonso is a MUST for your FPL squad.

The 27-year-old was the second best defender in the Fantasy Premier League ranks last term, only behind Blues team mate Cesar Azpilicueta, and he has already scored one goal and provided three assists in his opening three games, with Chelsea boasting a 100 per cent record, so far.

Alonso’s Blues take on AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (15:00), and we fancy our chances of the Spain international grabbing another goal or assist.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool – £13m)

No brainer. Premium price? Absolutely. But not selecting Mohamed Salah in your FPL side, especially after last season’s heroics, would be a silly, silly move.

Liverpool sensation Salah scored the most points last season on Fantasy Premier League (303 points), scoring an incredible 32 goals in just 36 Premier League appearances.

The Egyptian winger, who is the most expensive player on the game at £13m, has carried on from where he left off last year, netting twice and setting up two further strikes in his opening three league games this season.

Salah & Co. travel to Leicester City for Saturday’s early kick-off at the King Power Stadium (12:30).

Alisson (Liverpool – £5.5m)

Another Reds star makes our Top 5 Fantasy Premier League picks, following his enormous £66.8m move to Anfield from AS Roma earlier this summer.

Goalkeeper Alisson has injected confidence into Liverpool’s defence instantaneously, keeping a clean sheet in all three of his league games so far this season, as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to establish themselves as genuine title contenders.

At £5.5m, half a million pounds cheaper than the most expensive shot stopper David de Gea (Manchester United) in the game, Alisson is a safe pair of hands for your FPL squad.

Lucas Moura (Tottenham Hotspur – £7.1m)

What a start to the new season for this Spurs star!

Lucas Moura has proved many wrong following his unconvincing start to life at Tottenham last term, after his £25m arrival from Paris Saint-Germain back in January.

After failing to find the back of the net in the Premier League during the second-half of last season, Brazil forward Moura has scored three goals in as many games this campaign, including a brilliant brace at Manchester United on Monday night during Tottenham’s superb 3-0 away victory at Old Trafford.

Spurs travel to Watford on Sunday, with both clubs having won their opening three league games.

Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City – £6.4m)

And finally, after an unfortunate start to life last season, rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, which ruled him out for most of the 2017-18 campaign, Benjamin Mendy has shown exactly why Manchester City splashed out £52m last summer on the full-back following his blistering start to the 2018-19 term.

The 24-year-old, who lifted the FIFA World Cup with France in Russia earlier this summer, has already assisted three goals in his opening three games, as defending league champions City look to achieve back-to-back titles.

Mendy, who was restricted to just seven league appearances during his debut year at the Etihad Stadium, is set to start for Pep Guardiola’s side against Newcastle United on Saturday evening (17:30).
