Magnificent. The only word that can sum up Leicester City’s campaign in the Premier League this season. Claudio Ranieri has led somewhat of a revolution at the King Power Stadium and it is hard to forget that almost a year ago, the Foxes were rock-bottom of the table facing relegation to the Championship.

Since then; after ending a run of five losses and two draws against West Ham United back in April 2015, the Italian’s team have not looked back. They have won 24 of their last 38 fixtures, picked up seven points from their last three games and sit five points clear at the top of the table.

Whilst the teams around them continue to drop points, Leicester have lost just once in their last 10 games and are on course for what could be the biggest surprise in Premier League history – their first-ever Premier League title.

There have been some stand out player performances and Ranieri will be keen to keep hold of his squad when they look to replicate their success next season. However, this is something that is a hard feat for any club and given the publicity surrounding their heroics, this may be almost unachievable. With that in mind, here are five players who could receive interest from clubs during the summer transfer window.

5. Kasper Schmeichel

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been outstanding throughout this campaign and he has kept the third highest number of clean sheets in the division (10); only Arsenal’s Petr Cech and Manchester City’s Joe Hart better this feat. Schmeichel has conceded just 31 goals this season and has won some crucial points through his quick decision-making and a number of vital saves.

The Dane will be looking to replicate his father’s success by winning the title and has already received interest from several of the bigger clubs in the Premier League. For future success, it will be vital that the club persuades him to at least see out the remainder of his four-year contract.
