With sides in the Premier League and Championship only one round away from entering this year’s FA Cup competition, for the sides taking part in the second round over the coming weekend, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Winning could see them secure a lucrative tie home or away against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, a once-in-a-lifetime chance for many players plying their trade further down the football pyramid.

Knowing what could await them in the next round will no doubt lift some of those sides to play above their level in games where they are going in as underdogs, and we’ve picked out some ties where an upset could be on the cards in this round.

5. Millwall v Wycombe Wanderers (Saturday, 3pm)

A clash between two Football League sides who have had good seasons so far in the third and fourth tier respectively. Both are challenging for promotion, and made it through to the last round with ease against non-league opponents.

Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe have lost just twice on the road this term and will be confident of upsetting Millwall

The Den won’t be an easy place for the Chairboys to go to, however having only lost twice on the road this season, Gareth Ainsworth’s side will believe that they have every chance of causing a shock against a Lions side who have had mixed fortunes at home this season.
