3. Chelsea’s dismal title defence

When 14 games of the season were played last season, Chelsea topped the league and were undefeated; this season, they find themselves in 14th position.

The reigning champions have picked up just 15 points, with their goalless draw away to Spurs at the weekend leaving them 14 points adrift from the summit of the Premier League.

It’s been a tough start for Jose Mourinho and his side

The Blues have suffered a number of well documented problems this season, the latest being a fall out between manager José Mourinho and Diego Costa, with the Spain international caught seemingly throwing his bib towards direction of his boss against Spurs.

Despite their woes, they have rightly kept Mourinho at the helm, which has been logical due to the majority of fans vocally backing him and his players every game.

A negative and intimidating atmosphere hasn’t taken over at Stamford Bridge quite yet as the mentality that they will turn this season around remains.
