With Transfer Deadline Day drawing closer, there are plenty of transfers still to be completed. Several well-known faces have already made the switch over, or back, to the Premier League this January, and there are undoubtedly many more to come.

To date, the most expensive Premier League transfer in this window is Jonjo Shelvey as he switched Wales for Tyneside at a cost of £12 million, with Andros Townsend also moving to St James’ Park for a similar fee.

With five new faces, Norwich have been the busiest team in the top-flight, whilst Aston Villa, Chelsea, Manchester City, Stoke City and West Brom are yet to make a signing.

Here are five of the top transfers that could go through before the window closes on Monday:

Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid to Chelsea)

13 May 2015 - Uefa Champions League - Real Madrid v Juventus - Carvajal of Madrid tackles Paul Pogba of Juventus.

Could Carvajal be moving to Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea are chasing Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal and are hoping to bring the Spaniard to the club before deadline day.

Since signing a new deal at the Bernabeu, the 24-year-old has struggled for game time due to strong competition from Brazilian Danilo, and has only featured 11 times this season.

The Blues are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements having already conceded 34 goals this season and are looking to capitalise on the defender’s frustration.
