2. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Rooney looked back to his best against Newcastle.

Rooney ran the game with two goals and an assist as Manchester United threw away a lead on two occasions as they drew 3-3 at Newcastle.

After Chancel Mbemba was deemed to have handballed Marouane Fellaini’s header in the area, the Red Devils skipper stepped up to give his side the lead after nine minutes.

With United dominating, the England star’s excellent reverse pass to Jesse Lingard allowed the young Englishman to fire past Rob Elliot to double the advantage.

Following a Newcastle United fightback, Rooney put United 3-2 up with a fantastic drive from the edge of the area with 10 minutes to go, but Paul Dummett’s deflected last minute strike snatched the Magpies a point.
