2. Mesut Özil (Arsenal)
Man-of-the-Match Özil provided the assists for Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud’s goals as second-placed Arsenal triumphed over third-placed Manchester City 2-1.
The Germany international’s 14th assist of the season came in the first half as his sharp pass found Walcott before the England forward fired the ball into the opposite side of the goal, leaving Joe Hart with no chance.
In the dying moments before the interval, the ex-Real Madrid star collected the ball from Eliaquim Mangala’s poor clearance and slid in a delightful pass for Giroud to slot home.
Now on 15 assists for the season, Ozil is is only five away from Thierry Henry’s Premier League record of 20 in a campaign, with still 21 matches to be played.
