His work down the right was almost rewarded early on but Jamie Vardy couldn’t finish under pressure from Sebastian Prodl as the Austrian forced the ball out for a corner.
But ten minutes into the second-half, Mahrez controlled the ball on the edge of the area and curled the ball with pace past Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes for what would prove to be the match winner.
This was the 26th goal that the Algeria international has been involved in this season in just 28 games.
