The 27-year-old had put Quique Sánchez Flores’ side 1-0 up from the penalty spot before Emmanuel Adebayor equalised for the Eagles.

Yet the striker was on hand with just eight minutes to go to fire home Ben Watson’s cross at the far post for his ninth goal of the season.
