4. Mason Holgate (Everton)
After playing in every pre-season game and the season opener last week against Tottenham Hotspur, the 19-year-old full-back marked his second Everton game with a man of the match performance in the 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion.
With a void left in the Everton defence due to John Stones’ departure, Holgate looks to have so far taken this opportunity with a performance which included having 85% pass completion and making nine ball recoveries.
The former Barnsley defender was also on hand to divert the ball from a corner into the ground and to the far-post where Gareth Barry headed the ball home and gave Everton their first three points of the season.
