Manchester City have replaced their rivals Manchester United at the top of the Premier League on goals scored after their 4-1 win at Stoke City.

The weekend’s shock result came at Turf Moor as newly-promoted Burnley recorded a 2-0 victory over title-challenging hopefuls Liverpool.

Elsewhere; there were wins for Man United, Hull City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Everton, Middlesbrough and West Ham United.

But as the season begins to gather momentum, who were the top performers?

Here’s Shoot’s Top 5 Premier League Players of the Weekend…

5. Andre Gray (Burnley)

Former non-league striker, Gray, was voted man of the match as Burnley recorded the shock result of the weekend as they beat Liverpool 2-0 at Turf Moor.

The Clarets marksman turned provider in the early exchanges as he intercepted a loose pass from Nathaniel Clyne and found strike partner Sam Vokes who fired past Simon Mignolet from the edge of the area.

The 25-year-old then notched his first Premier League goal, cutting inside of Jordan Henderson and then Ragnar Klavan before slotting the ball home with his left foot as Sean Dyche’s men went into the break 2-0 up.

Despite having 80% possession and 26 shots, Jürgen Klopp’s men were unable to break down Burnley – mainly due to the energy and tenacity of the attackers who chased and closed down every ball to earn a precious three points for the hosts.
