Gunners fans would have been upset to see the Frenchman leave the club, but a combination of extra competition for places in midfield, picking up a few injuries towards the end of the season and a somewhat ‘track-record’ of giving away fouls seem to be the reasons why his spell at the Emirates Stadium has come to an end.

Leeds United, Marseille and Olympiacos have been interested in signing the midfielder and at only 32 years of age, Flamini could definitely do a job for any team across the top footballing leagues.
