In this modern day of transfer windows, wildly inflated fees and constant media speculation, we are now seeing a series of long drawn out stories roll on for months on end.
We all love a bit of gossip don’t we, but can it get a little bit tiresome? For me it can do when one protracted deal is written about every single day and seems to go on for an eternity.
In previous years we had Ashley Cole from Arsenal to Chelsea, Wayne Rooney threatening to leave Old Trafford and, more recently, Luis Suarez being chased by Arsenal before joining Barcelona.
