2. John Stones
Stones’ incredible rise to stardom shows no sign of relenting as Jose Mourinho seems determined to bring the England defender to Stamford Bridge.
Having made his international debut just two years after his first appearance for Barnsley, the ‘Special One’ sees Stones as the long-term successor to John Terry and has been chasing him the past month.
The 21-year-old handed in a transfer request on Tuesday and this may force Everton’s hand before the window shuts. Chelsea have reportedly made three bids so far and are expected to increase their offer any day.
Despite Roberto Martinez’s insistence that his star is not for sale there seems an air of inevitability that the transfer will happen sooner rather than later, especially after the bombshell of the defender’s transfer request.
