Their stuttering rivals

Hazard and his Chelsea team-mates have lost nine of their 16 matches this term.

It is uncommon to see all of the usual top teams suffering from such inconsistency, and the only sides that currently look as though they could challenge at the top are Arsenal and Manchester City; capable of defeating any side but their title chances are often dampened by crucial injuries to key personnel.

Chelsea’s fall from grace as champions remarkably rules them out of the running already. Liverpool’s results under Jurgen Klopp are still fluctuating each week., while Tottenham need to turn draws into victories. Manchester City look defensively shaky without Vincent Company, and Manchester United have scored just 21 goals in 16 games.

Whilst Leicester may be an unfamiliar name at the top of the table, their points tally of 35 after 16 games is not, especially in comparison to previous seasons, and this demonstrates why they should now be treated as serious title contenders.
