Sheffield Wednesday pulled off the shock win on Boxing Day after beating league leaders and title favourites Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Glenn Loovens’ first goal in over three years proved enough to extend the Owls’ winning streak to four matches.

The defeat for the Magpies means that they have moved off the top of the Championship table; with Brighton and Hove Albion climbing above them after beating Queens Park Rangers 3-0 on Bank Holiday Tuesday.

The visitors remain in sixth place despite their huge upset on Tyneside.
