Sven-Goran Eriksson – Notts County

Sven-Goran Eriksson takes his seat at Barnet.

This is possibly the most surreal managerial appointment ever. Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson took on the role of Director of Football at the oldest club in the Football League in England’s fourth tier.

This move supposedly sparked the beginning of a revolution at Notts County, whose new Middle Eastern investors would take the League Two side to the wonders of the Premier League.

But just seven months into the ‘Revolution of Nottingham’, the club was teetering on the edge of financial collapse, and the well-regarded Director of Football, who has league title winning honours in Portugal, Sweden and Italy, left the club.
