2. Latvia (Euro 2004)
They were the first ever Baltic nation to reach a European finals, and they did it the hard way to make it to the 2004 tournament in Portugal.
In a tough group that also featured Sweden, Poland and Hungary, they did enough to finish second in the group, setting up a play-off match against Turkey, who had finished fourth at the World Cup the previous year.
After narrowly winning the home leg in Riga, they secured a 2-2 draw in Istanbul to win the tie 3-2 on aggregate and qualify for the finals.
