Liverpool will aim to take a huge step towards the Premier League title when they face holders Manchester City on Sunday.

Arne Slot’s side currently sit eight points clear at the top of the table after Arsenal missed the chance to close the gap when they were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United on Sunday.

The Reds could therefore extend their advantage to 11 points with victory at The Etihad, against a City side that have already lost more than twice as many games in the Premier League this season as they did in the entirety of last term.

Away from the action, the futures of three Liverpool stars continue to dominate discussion.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are all in the final six months of their respective contracts, and it appears that some of Europe’s biggest clubs are not circling around the latter.

As per TBR Football, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both showing interest in Liverpool captain Van Dijk.

Van Dijk has attracted interest from both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid

The centre-back remains an integral part of Slot’s side and has played every single minute of the Reds’ Premier League campaign so far this term, but the report claims that clubs are increasingly showing interest in the Dutchman.

Despite the interest from elsewhere, the report claims that Van Dijk is keen to stay put at Anfield beyond this summer.

At present, though, there is no agreement in place to extend the 33-year-old’s contract beyond the end of the current season.

Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018 and has since established himself as one of the best central defenders in world football.

The Dutchman recently made his 300th appearance for the Merseyside giants, and he has won eight trophies during his time at Anfield including the Premier League and Champions League.
