Chelsea will hope to end their poor run of form when they host London rivals West Ham United on Monday evening.

The Blues looked to have arrested their dismal form when they beat Wolves earlier this month, but a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City last Sunday means Enzo Maresca’s side have now won just one of their past six Premier League matches.

Off the pitch the West London outfit are yet to make a senior signing during the current transfer window, however it appears that one of their fringe players could soon be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Italian side Torino have reached a verbal agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei.

The midfielder joined the Blues from Serie A giants Inter Milan in 2022 as part of a huge recruitment drive at the West London side, but he has since struggled to force his way into the first team.

In total he has played just 17 times for the Blues across all competitions, as well as spending time on loan at both Reading and Leicester City.

He has featured six times for Maresca’s side this term but hasn’t yet played in the Premier League, despite playing under the Italian during his time with Leicester.

Casadei is under contract with Chelsea until 2028 but Romano claims that Torino are now closing in on a deal to land the central midfielder.

Despite a verbal agreement having been reached, Romano suggests that both clubs will be very careful during the next steps – including the player’s medical – as fellow Italian side Lazio had previously agreed a deal to sign the player before the proposed move fell through.

It is claimed that the agreement will see Torino pay Chelsea an initial fee in excess of £10 million, while the Blues will also benefit from a sell0on clause in excess of 20%.
