Tottenham are reportedly ready to outbid Crystal Palace in the race to sign Belgium international Michy Batshuayi.
Their Premier League rivals were linked with a club-record £15m bid for the Marseille hitman earlier this week, although both clubs are understood to have been scouting the star striker throughout the start of this campaign.
The 22-year-old, who has two international caps to his name, has scored an impressive 12 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew is eager to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window as none of his side’s recognised strikers, Dwight Gayle, Connor Wickham, Patrick Bamford, Frazier Campbell or Marouane Chamakh, have registered a single Premier League goal this term.
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing in another forward to White Hart Lane to take the pressure off Harry Kane.
However, Batshuayi has also been linked with English top-flight rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United already this campaign.
