The search for Gareth Southgate’s replacement as England manager continues following his departure last week.

The 53-year-old resigned from his role just days after the Three Lions were beaten 2-1 by Spain in the final of Euro 2024, becoming the first team in history to lose successive European Championship finals.

Whoever is appointed to the role will have a plethora of talent at their disposal, including the likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer.

Now, it appears that one other member of the England squad has attracted interest from two of the Premier League’s biggest teams.

As per Football Insider, both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have registered their interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a fine second half of last season for the Eagles, earning him a place in Southgate’s squad for the tournament in Germany.

Eze impressed during his three substitute appearances for England at Euro 2024

Eze made three substitute appearances for England at the Euros, most notably during their quarter-final win over Switzerland.

The Englishman – who primarily plays as either an attacking midfielder or a left winger – joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 and has since played a total of 124 times for his current side, scoring 26 goals and providing 17 assists.

Palace will be reluctant to let Eze leave having already lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich this summer, but the report claims that several sides including Spurs and the Reds are interested in him.

Tottenham are said to be keen on the idea of bolstering manager Ange Postecoglou’s attacking options ahead of the upcoming season, and Eze has emerged as a potential target.

The England international is contracted to the Eagles until the summer of 2027, which puts Palace in a relatively commanding negotiating position.
