Tottenham have reportedly entered the race to sign former Spain Under-21 international star Denis Suarez, according to Marca (via the Express).

The Premier League side; who currently sit second in the English top-flight standings, despite losing 2-1 against Southampton at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon, are keen on recruiting the Villarreal midfielder following his impressive performances in his homeland this term.

The 22-year-old, who was on the books of Premier League rivals Manchester City between 2011 and 2013, has scored five goals and provided 13 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season.

Winger Suarez; who made only two first-team appearances for Man City during his spell at the Etihad Stadium – both coming in the League Cup – is also attracting interest from his former club and North London rivals Arsenal this summer.

The report suggests that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s ability to offer Champions League football next season will hopefully convince Suarez to return to England.
