Tottenham Hotspur face fierce London rivals West Ham United when the Premier League returns next weekend.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have endured a difficult start to the new campaign and currently sit ninth in the Premier League table having won just three of their seven games so far.

The Australian will be hoping to build on his side’s fifth-placed finish last term, and victory over the Hammers could kickstart the Lilywhites’ season.

In the meantime, though, it appears that the North London outfit are one of a number of Premier League sides chasing a Leicester City defender.

As per TBR Football, both Spurs and the Hammers are interested in Leicester centre-back Caleb Okoli.

The 23-year-old only joined the Foxes this summer, signing from Italian outfit Atalanta for a fee of around £10 million, but the report suggests that he is already attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Okoli has already attracted interest from other Premier League clubs

He has started Leicester’s last five Premier League games, helping the Foxes to a 1-09 win over Bournemouth last time out.

It is claimed that Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the defender, who is a former Italy Under-21 international.

Spurs are said to have considered a move for the Italian over the summer, prior to his move to Leicester, after he had impressed during a loan spell with Frosinone.

The Lilywhites had reservations about Okoli’s ability to adapt to the Premier League, but they are now said to be impressed with his start to life in England and could therefore move for him in the near future.

Okoli signed a long-term contract with the Foxes when he arrived in England, meaning he is now tied to the club until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

Leicester will therefore be in a particularly strong negotiation position during potential talks, which could mean the defender will not be available at a low price.
