Tottenham Hotspur have completed the £17m signing of Netherlands international striker Vincent Janssen.

The Premier League side, who finished third in the English top-flight standings last term and have qualified for the UEFA Champions League ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign, have signed the forward from Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old, who has five international caps for his country, scored an impressive 32 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances in all competitions last season in Holland’s top-flight.

Janssen, who netted against England at Wembley Stadium back in March during his international debut, becomes Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s second summer signing following the £11m arrival of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama.

BBC Sport report that Tottenham beat the likes of Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain to the Dutchman’s services, with Janssen set to provide competition for fellow forward Harry Kane at White Hart Lane in the near future.
