Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs were beaten 4-1 by rivals Chelsea last time out, ending their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

The result meant that Manchester City stay top of the Premier League table, and there was further bad news for manager Ange Postecoglou as both James Maddison and Micky van de Ven were forced off injured on Monday evening.

Both players could face spells on the sidelined, while the Lilywhites will also be without both Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie for the game against Wolves after the pair were both sent off during the defeat to Chelsea.

With that in mind, Spurs are reportedly eyeing a move for a proven Premier League centre-back.

According to 90min, Spurs are one of a number of clubs interested in Everton defender Ben Godfrey.

The report claims that both Tottenham and Newcastle United have shown an interest in the Englishman, who appears to have fallen out of favour under Sean Dyche this season.

Godfrey has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs

Godfrey, 25, joined the Toffees from Championship side Norwich City back in 2020 and has since made 79 appearances for his current club across all competitions.

The two-time England international was a regular during his first two seasons on Merseyside but, having fallen out of favour towards the end of last term, he has since failed to regain a place in the first team under Dyche.

So far this season Godfrey has been an unused substitute in ten of Everton’s 11 Premier League matches, with his only appearance in the competition being a one-minute cameo against Sheffield United in September.

The report claims that Everton would be willing to sell the player when the transfer window reopens in January, with the likes of James Tarkowski, Michael Keane, and Jarrad Branthwaite all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order at Goodison Park.
