Tottenham Hotspur’s season went from bad to worse on Sunday as they were beaten 3-2 by Everton at Goodison Park.

The Toffees raced into a 3-0 half-time lead courtesy of goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye, and an Archie Gray own goal.

Ange Postecoglou’s side pulled two goals back late on through Dejan Kulusevski and former Everton man Richarlison, but the Lilywhites were unable to find an equaliser.

The result leaves Tottenham 15th in the Premier League table, 14 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

Sunday’s defeat against Everton has piled even more pressure on Postecoglou, but of the pitch if appears that those in charge of the club’s recruitment are on the hunt for new defenders.

As per CaughtOffside, the North London outfit have identified Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo as a potential transfer target.

The report claims that Tottenham are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements having suffered with injuries at the back this season.

Tosin has played a bit-part role for the Blues so far this season

The likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Ben Davies have all suffered with injuries this term, and Spurs have therefore drawn up a shortlist of targets that includes Tosin, former Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori, and Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Milan Skriniar.

Tosin, 27, only joined Chelsea last summer after his contract with West London neighbours Fulham expired.

He has since played a bit-part role for the Blues, with only ten of his 18 appearances across all competitions having been in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea would be willing to sell a first team player to such a fierce rival or, indeed, whether the player himself would be open to the prospect of a move so soon after joining the club.

Tosin is contracted to Chelsea until 2028, having signed a long-term contract when joining the club last summer, but it appears that a fierce London rival is attempting to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
