Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to end the season with a win when they play relegation-threatened Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.

The Lilywhites, who were beaten 3-1 by Brentford last time out, will need a win to stand any chance of qualifying for the Europa Conference League next term.

Spurs have had a chaotic season with three different managers having taken charge, and they look likely to finish eighth in the Premier League.

As well as struggling on the pitch, the north London outfit have also so far failed to find a permanent successor to Antonio Conte, who was sacked in March.

In recent days it looked likely that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would appoint Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, but it has been revealed that talks between the two sides have broken down.

However, it seems that Spurs could now make a u-turn on their stance on one of their previous targets.

According to MailOnline, Tottenham ‘retain a tentative interest’ in ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

The German has previously been linked to the Premier League club, but they had reportedly claimed that they were not interested in him.

Nagelsmann has emerged as a contender for the Spurs job

However, their stance on the 35-year-old could change after Slot revealed his desire to stay in Rotterdam.

Nagelsmann spent nearly two full seasons at German giants Bayern Munich, winning a Bundesliga title and two German Super Cups in that time.

Despite the 35-year-old being regarded as one of the best young managers in the world, Spurs have strong reservations about him as they would have to pay Bayern a huge compensation fee which could total more than £10m.

The German may also demand a high base salary which could cause Levy to look to other candidates including Ruben Amorim, Ange Postecoglou and Graham Potter.

Tottenham will be keen to make a managerial appointment before the summer transfer window begins, and whoever takes charge of the club will be tasked with keeping talisman Harry Kane at the club.
