Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, according to reports.

The 28-year-old impressed in the Premier League last season, despite West Brom’s relegation and has made 23 appearances in the Championship this term.

However, with his Baggies deal set to expire in the summer, talkSPORT report that the stopper is “very much on Tottenham’s radar.”

Current Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is also out of contract at the end of the season with former club Lille keeping an eye on the situation.

Although Antonio Conte is keen to keep the Frenchman, it’s claimed the Italian would like to bring in another option.

Hugo Lloris’ deal expires in the summer.

Johnstone has three England caps to his name and was included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2020.

But with competition fierce, the former Manchester United youngster will know he will have to return to the top-flight to give him the best possible opportunity to make the 2022 World Cup.

Johnstone has been at West Brom since 2018 having finally left Manchester United on a permeant deal following 10 separate loan moves to seven different clubs.

If Tottenham do make their move for the Preston-born stopper then the North London side will potentially have to compete with Newcastle, Southampton and West Ham for his signature.
