Tottenham Hotspur kickstarted their Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday.

Pape Matar Sarr put the hosts ahead in North London, before a late Lisandro Martinez own goal ensured the Lilywhites were victorious.

Spurs now face a trip to the south coast to face Bournemouth on Saturday, while United welcome Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford.

The North London outfit are yet to delve into the transfer market to replace Harry Kane, who left to join Bayern Munich earlier this month, but it now appears that could soon change.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham remain in the race to sign Gent striker Gift Orban.

The Nigerian has impressed for the Belgian side over the past six months, netting 26 goals in 28 senior matches for the club.

Orban, 21, has attracted interest from a number of clubs and Spurs’ Premier League rivals Fulham are also believed to be interested in the player.

Orban is a target for both Tottenham and Fulham

The Cottagers are in need of attacking reinforcements following the sale of Alexander Mitrovic to Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Hilal over the weekend.

Orban, a Nigeria under-23 international, joined Belgian side Gent from Norwegian outfit Storbaek in January, and made an instant impact.

He netted 20 times in 22 matches across all competitions last term, as well as providing two assists for his teammates.

The youngster had also scored 19 times in 24 matches for his former side, also providing seven assists.

The forward is currently contracted to Gent until the summer of 2027, which would put the Belgian Pro League side in a commanding position during potential negotiations.

This season Orban has been in fine form – netting six times in as many games – and he has been particularly potent in Europe, scoring four goals in three Europa Conference League games.
