Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has given fans some big news ahead of their clashes with both Gent and Fulham this week.
The Spurs manager, Speaking ahead of their Europa League clash in Belgium on Thursday night, confirmed that the trio of Jan Vertonghen, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose are all back in training and progressing well, whilst the Belgian defender may even be in the starting line-up for the FA Cup tie with their south London rivals.
Of Vertonghen, who was injured during his side’s win over West Brom in January, Pochettino said:
“He is very well and maybe Sunday he’ll be ready to make the starting XI or be on the bench.”
Spurs will be looking to get a decent result when they face Gent this week before welcoming them to London, more specifically Wembley, next Thursday for the second leg.
With the race for the top four as tight as ever, Pochettino will see winning the Europa League as a good way of ensuring a spot in the Champions League for next season.
