Tottenham Hotspur will begin their 2024/25 Premier League campaign against newly promoted Leicester City.

The Lilywhites will travel to The King Power Stadium on Monday 19 August, with manager Ange Postecoglou keen to improve on his side’s fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

The Australian took charge of Spurs last summer and enjoyed a fine start to life in North London, before his side’s form eventually dipped and they missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Ahead of next season, it appears that Tottenham have been handed a transfer boost.

According to Football Insider, Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has priced himself out of a move to Aston Villa, allowing Spurs to move for the player.

McKennie could be on his way to the Premier League this summer

Villa had been working on a complicated swap deal involving Douglas Luiz and Samuel Iling-Junior, but talks between Villa and Juventus have stalled.

Spurs could now move for McKennie, 25, who played 38 times for the Italian side last season.

The former Leeds United loanee will soon enter the final year of his current Juventus contract, and the report claims that the club could look to cash in on him this summer.

Tottenham are said to have held talks about a proposed £15 million move for the USA international, who is currently representing his country at the Copa America in the United States.

Current Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been heavily linked with a move away from North London in recent weeks, and the club are therefore on the hunt for reinforcements.
