Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United battle it out to sign Porto striker Moussa Marega, according to the Daily Star

The Hammers have been linked with Marega for quite some time now, but with Tottenham’s star man Harry Kane out until April, Spurs are in the market for a striker.

Foot Mercato have reported Jose Mourinho’s Spurs have tried to tempt the 28-year-old with a move to the Premier League posing an initial six-month loan with an option to buy.

Kane’s injury was badly timed for Mourinho and Tottenham.

However, Porto have rejected this bid and have put a price tag of €30million on their goal-getter who has found the net seven times this campaign.

The story from Foot Mercato also suggests Napoli Marseille, Nice and an unnamed Chinese Super League club are also interested in Marega’s, but feel Porto’s valuation is too expensive.

In different ways both Premier League clubs are desperate for some fresh talent to their squad with Spurs struggling to hold pace with the Champions League places and David Moyes’ side flirting with relegation.
