Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing France international forward Anthony Martial, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who have dropped down to third spot in the top-flight table following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, could lure the Manchester United star to White Hart Lane, two years on after missing out on his signature to The Red Devils.

The 21-year-old, who has 15 international caps for his country and featured for France at UEFA Euro 2016 last summer, has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side so far this season.

Martial; who arrived at Old Trafford back in September 2015 from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco, in a deal that could eventually rise to £58m, could be offered an escape route this summer by Spurs, having failed to fully convince the ‘Special One’ of a starting spot at The Theatre of Dreams this term.

However, Martial did impress in United’s last Premier League outing, scoring one and setting up Juan Mata’s strike as The Red Devils defeated Watford 2-0 on Saturday.

He has netted 26 times in 79 games for United overall.
