Tottenham Hotspur continue their Europa League campaign when they host Dutch side AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night.

The Lilywhites have beaten Azerbaijani side Qarabag and Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros so far, and therefore sit third in the group phase table, only behind leaders Lazio on goal difference.

Ange Postecoglou will expect to see his side make it three wins from three when they host AZ, and the Australian could make a number of changes to his side for the game.

Off the pitch, though, it appears that Spurs are chasing an in-form Premier League striker.

As per CaughtOffside, the North London side are currently leading the race to sign Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

Delap, son of former Stoke City midfielder Rory, has enjoyed a fine start to the season for the struggling Tractor Boys.

Delap has scored four of Ipswich’s six Premier League goals so far this term

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in the Premier League so far, having joined Ipswich from reigning champions Manchester City over the summer.

It is claimed that Spurs are one of a number of clubs that are monitoring the England Under-21 international’s situation, with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle United also said to be interested.

Delap’s former club, Man City, are also credited with an interest in the Englishman, who scored once in six games for the Citizens at senior level before leaving The Etihad earlier this year.

When joining the East Anglian side, Delap signed a long-term contract that is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

That puts Ipswich in a commanding position during any potential negotiations for the player, although the report does suggest that Town are willing to assess any offers that they receive for the player during the mid-season January window.
