The Premier League returns on Saturday, with Tottenham Hotspur hosting Luton Town in one of eight matches.

Spurs currently occupy fifth place in the top flight table and are three points behind Aston Villa, although they do have a game-in-hand.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will be keen to ensure his side qualify for next term’s Champions League during his first season in charge, and victory over the Hatters could be crucial.

Off the pitch, though, it appears that the club are set to sell one of their midfielders this summer.

According to Football Insider, the North London outfit are planning to accept offers for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

The Dane joined Spurs from Southampton in 2020, having spent four years on the south coast after moving from Bayern Munich.

Hojbjerg looks likely to leave Tottenham this summer

He has played 175 times for the Lilywhites across all competitions, but the report claims that both the club and the player are open to the idea of parting ways when the transfer window reopens.

Hojbjerg, 28, is contracted to Spurs until the end of next season, which means he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January and leave Tottenham for free next summer.

With that in mind, the London side are hoping to sell the Denmark international when the window reopens, and will therefore accept suitable offers if they are received.

Postecoglou has primarily deployed Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma at the base of his midfield this season, limiting Hojbjerg to just six Premier League starts so far this term.

The midfielder attracted interest from Italian clubs, including Juventus, during the January transfer window but a move never materialised.

The player recently spoke about hsi frustration at his lack of playing time under Postecoglou.
