Tottenham players ‘left baffled’ by Spurs’ transfer decisions during the Harry Kane saga this summer, according to The Athletic.

A terribly frustrating start of the season at Tottenham just seemed a continuation of a turbulent summer, as it goes from bad to worse in North London.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked today after just four months in charge as huge pressure is now piled on chairman Daniel Levy to name a manager who can bring success to Tottenham.

Nuno lost his job earlier today.

One of the biggest contributing factors to Spurs’ poor run of form has been their lack of goal threat, scoring just nine Premier League goals in their 10 games this term.

England and Tottenham’s talisman Harry Kane has struggled for form all season, but Nuno had no choice but to stick with Kane with very little backup options.

The decision not to invest in a backup striker left senior Spurs stars baffled in the summer, according to the Athletic. A club which is clearly not where it needs to be from top to bottom at this moment in time.
