Tottenham are reportedly plotting a £17m bid for Germany international defender Jonas Hector this summer, according to the Express (via Football Insider).

The Premier League club, who finished third in the English top-flight standings last term after being pipped to the runners-up spot on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign by North London rivals Arsenal, have emerged as potential suitors for the FC Koln full-back.

The 26-year-old, who has 19 international caps for his country and is currently with the Germany squad in France for EURO 2016, provided four assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Hector, who is also said to be attracting interest from Liverpool and Wolfsburg, has helped Joachim Low’s nation reach the semi-finals of the European Championships this summer.

The report suggests that Spurs are ready to meet Koln’s demand of £17m for the full-back, despite still having two years left on his current deal.
