Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain following his explosive rant last week.

The Italian launched a furious attack on several aspects of the club following Spurs’ 3-3 draw against struggling Southampton last weekend, and speculation that he will be sacked has since been rife.

So far, though, the ex-Chelsea manager has kept his place as Tottenham manager.

Now, it appears that The Lilywhites are eyeing a move for a Premier League goalkeeper this summer.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are plotting a move for Brentford ‘keeper David Raya when the transfer window reopens.

The report claims that Spurs are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper and have identified the Spaniard as a prime target.

Raya, 27, has been in fine form for The Bees since they were promoted to the Premier League at the start of last season.

The Spain international is one of Brentford’s most important players, but it is claimed that they would accept an offer of around £30 million for Raya as his current contract is due to expire next summer.

Raya is a target for Spurs this summer

Since joining Brentford from Blackburn Rovers back in 2019, Raya has kept 51 clean sheets in 149 appearances for The Bees.

He has reportedly rejected a number of new contract offers from his current employers, though, and looks increasingly likely to depart this summer.

Spurs are said to be looking for a long-term successor to current first choice Hugo Lloris, who is currently out injured.

The Frenchman, who retired from international duty in January, has been criticised for some of his more recent performances and Spurs are reportedly keen to sign a new number one this summer.

In Lloris’ absence, Fraser Forster has deputised but has kept just three clean sheets in nine matches across all competitions and Spurs are said to be on the lookout for a new starting ‘keeper.
