Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to secure their place in the last 16 of the Europa League when they face IF Elfsborg in the final round of group phase matches on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side currently sit sixth in the 36-team table and will qualify for the last 16 with a victory, while defeat could see them slip below eighth place and into the play-offs.

In the meantime, it appears that the North London club are chasing a new forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are on the hunt for a new striker and hope to sign one before the end of the current transfer window.

Romano claims that Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel is one option being considered by the Lilywhites, with the Frenchman having decided over the past 48 hours to leave the Bavarian club.

London rivals Chelsea are one of a number of clubs also interest in the 19-year-old, and Spurs could therefore face fierce competition to sign the player.

It is also claimed that Tottenham are monitoring AC Milan’s Noah Okafor, with those in charge of the club’s recruitment having discussed a potential move for the Swiss attacker.

Okafor, 24m is set to leave Milan during the current transfer window, just 18 months after joining the club from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

Spurs have struggled domestically this season and currently sit 15th in the table, despite being the third-highest scorers in the competition so far this term.

Postecoglou’s first choice striker, Dominic Solanke, recently suffered a knee injury and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which has prompted the North London outfit to move for attacking reinforcements.

Tel is capable of playing on the left flank or centrally, while Okafor primarily plays on the left wing but can play anywhere across the front line.
